Telangana Chief Minister KCR may opt for eight ministers now and after some days the other ministers will follow the induction as per the jyotisham vachana of vedic pundits. The long overdue expansion of the two-member Cabinet of K. Chandrasekhar Rao may well take place on February 7 going by indications from official and TRS circles.

Sources said the expansion might not be full fledged to fill up all the remaining 18 ministerial berths but confined to inducting just four or eight TRS legislators. It was more likely that he might opt for eight ministers now and complete the government formation with eight more after Parliament elections.

The indications of Rao expediting the Cabinet expansion were available from activities at his farmhouse and official residence here in the last three to four days. Rao and the TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao were said to have discussed the names for two days at the farmhouse. Rama Rao who had become most sought after by over a score of aspirants for ministerial posts did not show up at the party office after January 26 when he went there last for Republic Day celebrations.

The Chief Minister was also mostly confined to the farmhouse at Erravelli during the period. He returned to the city on Saturday and will visit Yadagirigutta on Sunday morning to offer prayers beside review developmental works.

Rao was not expected to expand the Cabinet until February 6 as the dates were considered inauspicious. The TRS leaders said it was anyone’s guess from February 7 to 10 but he might plump for the former date though February 10 was the best as per Telugu calendar. This was because he would like his team to have more time to get good hold of the subjects that they handled before the next session of the Assembly in second or third week of February.

Meanwhile, the TRS leaders were discussing various names that could find place in the list in a scenario of eight new ministers. It was either former Ministers Jogu Ramanna or A. Indrakaran Reddy from erstwhile Adilabad, V. Prashant Reddy from Nizamabad, Eatala Rajender or Koppula Easwar from Karimnagar, S. Niranjan Reddy or V. Srinivas Goud from Mahbubnagar and E. Dayakar Rao, D.S. Redya Naik or D. Vinaybhaskar from Warangal. It was argued that Dayakar Rao, a six-time MLA, could make it only if former Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari was left out.
