HCA is not sure because of this unexpected turn of events and damage to the stadium. The BCCI officials have to assess the extent of damage and certify it fit for the May 12 grand finale after the Monday winds.

Although HCA CEO C Panduranga Murthy expressed confidence that the scheduled final will take place at Uppal Stadium, but there are a few peculiar technical problems that need to be addressed urgently before giving the green signal. With no canopy cover now to a large area at the South Stand, it will be the issue of floodlights and their shadow that will fall on the ground. It could cause problems to the players.

It would not be possible to install a new canopy in such a short notice. Or the other solution is to remove the canopy in total from South Stand. #KhabarLive
